What Elide does
Elide is a browser extension that lets you remove parts of a web page and adjust print settings before you print the page or save it as a PDF.
Information we collect
None. Elide has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. It never sends the pages you edit, your edits, or anything else about you to us or to anyone else.
Information stored on your computer
Elide saves a few preferences, such as your paper size and margins, using your browser’s built-in extension storage. These stay on your computer and are deleted when you remove the extension. Your edits to a page are kept only while that tab is open.
Permissions and why Elide needs them
- Active tab lets Elide work on the page you are viewing, and only after you click its icon or press its keyboard shortcut.
- Scripting lets Elide add its editing tools to that page so you can select and hide parts of it.
- Side panel shows Elide’s controls beside the page, so they never cover what you are printing.
- Storage saves your print preferences on your computer.
Elide cannot read or change any page until you open it on that page.
Third parties
Elide does not sell, rent or share data, because it has none to share. It loads no code or content from outside the extension.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. A change that collects any data would be explained here before it takes effect.
